We celebrate historical events that are commemorated every year. Thanksgiving is one of them. However, we don't need a holiday to tell us to be thankful. We are ever grateful for the work on the cross that transform lives.
We are thankful that in a season where there's much complaining and murmuring, we can rejoice. Where people may be feeling hopeless, we know we have hope in Jesus. Lamentations 3:20-24 says, My soul still remembers and sinks within me. This I recall to my mind therefore I have hope. Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed because His compassions don't fail. They are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, says my soul. Therefore I have Hope in Him.
Things could always be a different way or have a different outcome. So whatever and wherever we may find ourselves in, we learn and come to be thankful. The sovereign Lord by a miracle and/or our trust in Him, gives us a resolve of peace, joy, strength, guidance to get through in life victoriously. As a result, we see over and over in our lives His coverings and blessings, so undeserved. So Father God, we say thank you in all circumstances. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says in all things give thanks because that is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. This level of Thanksgiving says even though I may not understand the whys in life, I still give you thanks in it and after it.
In this season where there are many misfortunes, be thankful for where God has you. Be thankful.
Blessed Thanksgiving 2025
