THE BALANCING ACT

ree

The holidays and the many activities and festivities are vastly approaching. And it will be an exciting time. However, the question may come up. Are you prepared? Are you prepared to host the family and friends at your home? Are you prepared to cook that meal or the desserts? Are you prepared financially, so you don't go into debt this time? Are you prepared to entertain the out of town guests that may extend their welcome? Are you prepared to laugh at the corny jokes and pretend that you understand the game of football? Are you prepared to decorate and clean to make sure everything is in order? Are you prepared to handle any mistakes or problems that may arise? Are you prepared to put your games face on, go with the flow, smile and endure and enjoy the time, even though you may not be feeling your best? Are you prepared to where the many hats that may be expected of you?

In this season, how can we balance the many hats that we are wearing and can't take off or shuffle the hats we wear that they're not too heavy or maybe be blessed enough to take off some hats.

Balancing the tipping scale.

  1. Evaluate and reevaluate what needs to be done (what hats you're wearing), what is important and what will add value (or continued value).

  2. Create a list to organize and prioritize. (what arrangements need to be considered).

  3. It's okay to delegate. (it's ok to take off some hats so others can wear them. it will fit them).

  4. Be aware of what you need for your physical, mental and spiritual well being (there is a day called rest. there is a time called rest. there is a position called rest.)

  5. Know your limits (it's ok to say, No and not feel guilty. cannot burn the candles at both ends; there's only one wick to start).

  6. Know what you can multitask (working within the time frame of not doing too much. keeping your eye on things. don't burn the turkey)

  7. Don't allow others demands or request of you make you unravel (maintain your peace and joy in the season because you know the reason of the season).

  8. Get a fresh perspective (don't get stuck. traditions can be broken to create new ones).

  9. Know your worth (know your strengths and weaknesses. it's ok to ask for help. be happy with you).

  10. Maintain an attitude of gratitude and thanksgiving (everything will work out).

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your path. That's the balance! (Proverbs 3:5-6)

THANKFULNESS

We celebrate historical events that are commemorated every year. Thanksgiving is one of them. However, we don't need a holiday to tell us to be thankful. We are ever grateful for the work on the cros
